ABA Support
ABA Therapy That Supports Real Life, Not Conformity.
At Halcyon, ABA therapy is used to understand how your child learns, what may be getting in the way, and which skills would make daily life more accessible. The work may focus on communication, learning readiness, behaviour and regulation, independence, flexibility, or participation at home and in educational settings.
Best fit when
- building communication and functional skills
- understanding behaviour as communication, need, stress, or skill gap
- reducing barriers to learning and participation
- increasing independence in everyday routines
What we work on
We focus on goals that matter in your child's real context. Each target is placed within the wider curriculum so skills build toward access, independence, and participation—not isolated performance.

- a clear starting conversation, with no pressure to arrive with answers
- skills-assessment-led goal-setting linked to practical priorities
- regular, data-based review of what is working and what needs adjusting
- family involvement that is supportive, realistic, and respectful of capacity

Common concerns
If You Are Unsure About ABA Therapy, That Is Okay.
We know ABA can raise questions. Some families have had mixed experiences, and some worry therapy will try to make their child appear neurotypical. That is not the aim. Our practice is assent-informed and dignity-led. We focus on meaningful skills, safer routines, communication, independence, and participation—and we explain what we recommend, why it matters, and how it will be carried out.
